Food Business Operators have to report any changes in the business to the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) within a rational time.     There are majorly two types of FSSAI Modifications:

    Form C Modification

    It refers to amendments in the license document FSSAI issues with Form C.

    Other Modification

    It refers to the modification conducted to carry out variations in the supporting documents.

    The FSSAI Modification fees related to form C modification is as follows:

    Rs. 2000 for a state FSSAI license
    Rs. 7500 a central FSSAI license.
    No charges are payable for other Non-Form C FSSAI modifications.

    A declaration stating the changes for which the application has been filed is also required. The application for modification is scrutinized by Designated Officer (DO) with reference to the existing Form C. On scrutiny, the DO may raise query or objection on the application, seeking clarification or required additional information from the FBO. The response to this query is required to be done within 30 days.

    The application for modification requires re-submission of all the documents submitted at the time of applying for a license.

    The Food Business Operator need to attach the supporting evidence or proof of change along with the application, as required.
